Communicate almost anywhere in the world* by sending and receiving text messages.
In addition to Canada and the U.S., you can text people in more than 90 countries worldwide.
Get started
There are several ways to send text messages:
Your mobile phone to other mobile phones
Your mobile phone to a landline
Use your mobile phone to send text messages to most landlines in Canada and the U.S.. Your text message is converted to a voice message for your recipient. If they reply, you receive a text message with a toll-free number and 4-digit PIN so you can listen to their response.
From your email
Email a text message to any TELUS Mobility client by using this format: 10digitphonenumber@msg.telus.com (ex. 4168730000@msg.telus.com). In the body, type your text; text messages over 136 characters (PCS) are split over two messages.
Get text messaging
Text messaging is available as part of a messaging package or prepaid messaging package, starting at $3/month, or at the pay per use rate of 15¢/message sent or received.
To subscribe to a package, do one of the following:
- Add a feature online
- Visit a PCS Wireless store. Find a store.
- Call 1-866-541-9924
*An additional 10¢ charge applies for each text message sent outside of Canada and the US. Premium messages are not included.
**The services available in self-serve depend upon your rate plan and mobile phone model. If you don't see a service online, call TELUS by dialing 611 on your mobile phone.
